Tennis Key Information and Rules

Keys to the gate on the east side of the club are available. If you would like a key please email tennis@hhscswim.org.

The following rules apply to using the tennis court keys:

  • The key is assigned to you and for your family’s use only.
  • $5 fee plus a $5 deposit will be charged to your account. Your deposit will be credited back to your account, when you return your key.
  • If you lose your key, your deposit is forfeited.  Please notify a board member that the key is lost.
  • Do not lend your key to anyone. Do not make copies of your key.
  • Keys are to be used only when the club is closed. If the club is open, please enter through the reception area, provide your member number, and pay appropriate guest fees.
  • If you bring a guest(s) to play during off hours, and the courts are crowded, other members will have priority using the courts.
  • If the club opens after you’ve begun to play, and you have guests with you, please be sure to pay the guest fee at the front desk or exit the court.
  • Your key allows access to the east end gate entrance of the courts ONLY. If the club is closed, you are not permitted anywhere else on the premises.
  • Sometimes there will be people doing maintenance when the club is closed. They are not permitted to unlock the gate for you or provide you access to the club house.
  • Heart of the Hills is not responsible for any personal property left on the courts.
  • Any misuse of the key will result in relinquishing it.
  • Be respectful of others on the courts or in the surrounding area.
  • Limit your time if others are waiting.
  • Keep the courts clean and take your trash with you.
  • Your key is only good until the locks are replaced, which occurs every few seasons. A notice will go out when that happens and you will need to exchange your old key for a new one at that time.
  • Nets come down second weekend in October or when it snows, whichever comes first. They will go back up mid-April. Please do not access the courts while the nets are down.

Tennis Court Care and Safety

Just a reminder of some concerns regarding the use of the courts:

  • Please no food on the courts. We have found popsicle sticks, melted ice cream, etc. on the courts. These can lead to slips and falls and safety issues for players.
  • Please have proper footwear when on the courts. Flip flops, sandals, bare feet, will lead to scrapes and rolled ankles.
  • Please throw away your trash. There are trash cans hanging near each court, and there are several in the pavilion. Please be sure to use them and not leave trash on the court.
  • Please put away borrowed equipment. There are multiple rackets for community use in the bins in the pavilion. Older tennis balls will also be put in the same bin, so that kids can play at will. Please make sure to put equipment back once you’re finished using it.
  • Tennis balls in carts are intended for lessons, clinics, and team practices. Please refrain from taking them as we end up with a shortage. If you have older tennis balls, please donate them to the bin in the pavilion.
  • If you see people waiting, please limit your court time to 1.5 hours or ask your fellow members to play in.
  • During the day, tennis team practices and tennis lessons may use some or all courts. Please be considerate to those on court working with pros.
  • All tennis and pickleball activities are on the Google Calendar, to help you plan on available court time.
